Top Five Hairstyles For 2010

Over the years hairstyles have constantly changed. Bowlcuts were once in style, Afros had their place in society, and mow-hawks were considered socially acceptable at one point in time. The top trendiest hairstyles for 2010 have made their mark in history, and may stay in style for time to come.

The Bang

One of the more common hairstyles you see on women nowadays is the bang. Bangs have always been popular amongst women, but have gained maximum popularity in the past year or so. Actor Zooey Deschanel and singer Katy Perry both flaunted this hairstyle in 2010 and each knew how to wear it fashionably.

The Pixie

As seen on celebrities Halle Berry, Natalie Portman, and more recently Emma Watson, the Pixie has made its appearance on many individuals in 2010. Whether you are looking to live on the edge and take a chance, or just go for a more "liberal", free look, the Pixie is the cut for you! It has continuously grown in popularity and still is today; many women have tried out this look and have loved it, it's just a matter of preference. Nonetheless, it is also one of the most trendy hairstyles of nether year, and entering its way into this year.

Long and Straight

Although this hairstyle has been popular dating back to the middle ages; more and more teenage girls purchase their first straighteners, and the "long and straight" hairstyle has grown in prominence throughout the years. It seems as if this hairstyle will never go out of style, earning its position in the top five hairstyles for 2010.

Baldness

Many men have begun to "dig" the bald look. Whether you are partially balding and hope to cover the fact up, or want to just surprise your wife one morning, this is the look for you. Why go out and purchase all those overly-advertised, expensive hair growth products when you could just shave off your hair with a razor for free? Going bald has always been looked at as a sign of aging, but millions of people everywhere have begun to purposefully become bald for the look and style of it. In 2010 men everywhere have become attracted to the baldness look. I even believe some women partook in the style at one point too, namely Brittney Spears.

The Shag

Whether you are a male or female, the shag is suitable for you. In 2010, teenagers everywhere (most being males) began to grow out their hair and go for the "shaggy-just-out-of-bed" look. Justin Beiber, The Jonas Brothers, and Dylan and Cole Sprouse were some of the celebrities to actually cause the look to go mainstream. People everywhere began to wear the shag, and it became a dominant trend in 2010.
